Cookie Policy
The few cookies and similar technologies technocrypt.co uses, and how to control them.

1. Our approach
We keep cookies to a minimum. technocrypt.co uses no advertising cookies. The only non-essential cookies are Google Analytics cookies, and they are set only after you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner. Until then — or if you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal — analytics is not loaded at all.
2. What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| tc_region | Functional cookie | Remembers whether you see the US or India version of the site. | 12 months |
| tc_session | Strictly necessary cookie | Keeps authorised staff signed in to the website's admin area. Not set for visitors. | Up to 14 days |
| tc-theme | Local storage | Remembers if you switched to dark mode. Stays in your browser and is never sent to us. | Until you clear it |
| tc-consent | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask on every visit. | Until you clear it or change your choice |
| _ga | Analytics cookie (Google Analytics) — only with your consent | Distinguishes visitors so we can count unique visits. | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Analytics cookie (Google Analytics) — only with your consent | Keeps track of the current visit (session). | 2 years |
3. Third-party content
Some articles embed videos from platforms such as YouTube. Those platforms may set their own cookies when you play a video; their cookie policies apply. Where possible we use privacy-enhanced embed modes.
4. Your choices
Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to accept or decline analytics cookies, or to change your mind later; declining also deletes the analytics cookies already set. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a refusal.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the region cookie, the site will use your detected or default region each visit. Blocking strictly necessary cookies only affects staff sign-in.
Country-specific provisions
Our cookie use is limited to what's needed to run the site, which keeps us within these rules everywhere. Where a provision below gives you more protection than the rest of this document, the provision below applies.
| Country / region | Laws | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| India | Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 | Analytics cookies are set only after you opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time. |
| United States | California Consumer Privacy Act (CPRA) and other state privacy laws | No cookies are used to sell or share personal information or for targeted advertising. |
| European Union / EEA | ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC (Art. 5(3)) and GDPR | Strictly necessary and preference storage you request is exempt from consent; anything else would need your prior opt-in. |
| United Kingdom | Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR | Same as the EU: only essential cookies are set without consent. |
| Canada | PIPEDA and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) | Transparent disclosure of cookies; no tracking without meaningful consent. |
| Australia | Privacy Act 1988 (Australian Privacy Principles) | Cookie data that identifies you is handled under the APPs. |
| United Arab Emirates | Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL) | Cookie data that identifies you is processed lawfully and transparently. |
| Singapore | Personal Data Protection Act 2012 | Notification and consent apply to any cookie that collects personal data. |
